Fund Milwaukee

Juli Kaufmann is a co-founder of Fund Milwaukee, an investment network that seeks to match primarily unaccredited Milwaukee investors with opportunities to support local entrepreneurs, helping to sustain vibrant, livable communities and healthy ecosystems.

Currently, there are very few local investment options that are accessible to mainstream investors. Fund Milwaukee is the exception, presenting investment opportunities designed to keep investment dollars here by connecting local investors with Milwaukee social entrepreneurs. Fund Milwaukee members measure the success of their investments against a triple bottom line:

  1. Economic Stability – positive financial returns,
  2. Environmental Stewardship – businesses use sustainable practices, and
  3. Social Equity – businesses bring improvement or benefit to the community as a whole.

In its first two years, Fund Milwaukee grew to over 100 members and closed 16 deals with members investing over $1 million in local capital in such businesses as Purple Door Ice Cream, Martha’s Pimento Cheese, Central Greens, Brenner Brewing Company, Outpost Natural Foods.
